Integrated Learning Management System
Recognizing the immense potential of the e-Learning technologies, NIT initiated a series of constructive steps to promote and develop this promising technology. A custom Integrated Learning Management System (ILMS) was developed with specific functionality to allow online courses to be delivered directly to students.

| With all the lectures and learning materials by prominent and proficient professors available on CD-ROM, it is becoming increasingly challenging to store, organize, distribute and keep track of issues and returns of these CD’s. Content Manager, a software tool, facilitates management of multiple CDs that are loaded on a central server. It is a small, elegant application that can be installed easily. It enables the creation of course catalogs, curriculum/content structure, retrieves any CD on the network on demand, keeps track of all the CD’s used and also the student profiles with respect to the CD’s used. |

| Learning Management System (LMS) |
| The LMS is a flexible tool that allows students to access course materials and evaluate their progress with online tests. It allows students to submit assignments and to interact with instructors and other students for a collective learning experience. Using the LMS, instructors can add and remove information, conduct online tests to assess student understanding of the course material, and communicate offline with students individually. Additionally, there is an administration module that allows college management to schedule courses, assign instructors, activate the status of students and monitor the system usage. This provides information about students, courses, time spent on the system and if required, this data can be used to charge services |
